For issues from 1985 to 2002, they are available in PDF form. Full access to the archive is a benefit of membership in the OAH.

About the Magazine
Published since 1985, each quarterly issue of the OAH Magazine of History focuses on a theme in U.S. history. Articles draw upon recent scholarship, survey the historiography, and provide practical teaching strategies. Guest edited and written by subject specialists, the Magazine is aimed at a wide audience. Its goal is to enhance the teaching and presentation of U.S. history in secondary and college classrooms, as well as in public history settings.
Opinions expressed by authors or contributors do not necessarily reflect the opinions or policies of the OAH or the OAH Magazine of History. The OAH reserves the right to reject editorial material, announcements, and advertising sent in for publication that is not consonant with the goals and purposes of the organization.
